First Grade at John Beck Elementary School is my second home. My employment with Warwick School District began in 2008. Prior to taking the position of first grade teacher, I held the position of Learning Facilitator for Lititz Elementary School, my remaining years were spent at Lititz Elementary as a Reading Specialist for the district. I additionally have ten years teaching experience from my position as a Reading Specialist at Rolling Acres Elementary School within the Littlestown School District.
Not only do I have a background in the education of children, but I also was employed for ten years in adult education/social work in international and domestic adoption. This employment stemmed from my interest in adoption as my husband and I created our own family through that same process. Through this position, I had the opportunity and privilege to work with hundreds of families as they began seeking to create their families through both domestic and international adoption.
In education, I have a strong interest and background in working with early readers. I have a personal love for reading and encourage my students to develop the same love by surrounding them with engaging literature that opens new worlds to explore and gather new and exciting information.
