Welcome to math class, where problems are solved! That’s right, you may never need to use the specific problems that you learn in math class, but you will train your brain how to think and find solutions to problems! And believe me, for the rest of your life you will have problems to solve! So prepare well for class, ask questions, do your homework, and you will learn skills that will serve you well for the rest of your life!
I am enthusiastic about life and learning. I especially enjoy the challenge of helping students grow in their understanding of mathematics and confidence in solving problems! If you say “I can’t,” I will work with you until you realize that you can!
When I’m not teaching I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, yard games, driving in the snow, and growing vegetables in my garden. Indoors I enjoy playing strategy board games, card games, and conversations over coffee with my wife, adult children, and friends. My favorite professional sports teams have a home in Philadelphia and Penn State. I enjoy traveling to explore new places!
