Biography


Mr. Sheldon Christner grew up in beautiful northern Michigan. At age 15 he was apprenticed to a trim carpenter. He enjoyed this trade but also wanted to work with young people, so at age 20 he attended Grace college for a degree in Social Studies Education. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1991 to teach at Linville Hill Mennonite School in Paradise. Mr. Christner then went back into construction industry for about 10 years and also worked as a patternmaker for 3 years. His desire to pass on his experience and knowledge to the next generation drove him back to school. In the year 2000 he attended Millersville University for a certification and Master’s degree in Technology Education. He has enjoyed teaching Technology & Engineering at Warwick High school for the past 2 decades. This year Mr. Christner is teaching Introduction to Engineering Design, Metal Manufacturing and Architectural Design.

In his free time Mr. Christner enjoys inventing, designing, making things and helping others with their projects. He also enjoys playing an occasional game of Go and reading and listening to biographies of historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He recently began researching his family ancestry and is learning to play disc golf.

Mr. Christner lives in Lititz with his wife Becky. They have been married for 30 years and have four young adult children. They enjoy camping, hiking, biking, and being with friends.
