Warwick School District is seeking qualified applicants to fill in for the following position:
Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator (approximately March-early October)
Responsibilities include representing the Warwick School District to the press and public by acting as district spokesperson, as needed. Direct the district’s communications program with major emphasis on communications within the school district, between school and home, and between the district and community at large, including management of the district website and districtwide social media accounts. Attend regular meetings of the School Board as media contact as needed. Plan and coordinate special events and presentations as directed by the Superintendent. Be knowledgeable regarding all major happenings within the district as a basis for accurate reporting and communications.
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (fewer hours over the summer months)
Location: District Office - involves travel between District buildings
Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism/Public Relations is preferred. School public relations and website/content management experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable in all areas of social media.
Medical examination, tuberculin test, federal and state criminal record checks, and child abuse history clearance are required prior to employment.
