Warwick School District

Warwick Strong Day: Spread Kindness

On November 21st, we held our annual district-wide Warwick Strong Day! This year’s theme was Spread Kindness.

Throughout the day, each building participated in a variety of service-based activities to give back to our incredible community here in Lititz. From donating items and helping restock shelves at the local Community Chest, to delivering poinsettias and handwritten cards to local businesses, our students were hard at work showcasing their gratitude to our town.

A few of the many acts of services students participated in included, but were not limited to:

Kindness Spreads - District-wide

Paper hearts were sent home to each family and families were challenged to spread kindness in a way that made sense and was meaningful to them.

Assembling Hygiene Kits - JRB

Students worked together to fill about 300 hygiene kits for a school in Addis Ababa. Kits included a washcloth, bar of soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste.

Community Chest - MS

Students helped to unpack donations, check expiration dates, and sort/shelve donations.

Public Library - KH

Students assisted with restocking books in our local library by using the Dewey Decimal System.

United Zion - LE

Students visited and played games with residents.

Thank You Cards - HS

Students in Future Business Leaders of America wrote thank-you cards to a few of their favorite small businesses and hand delivered them to show their thanks.

In addition to the acts of service, our Art Teachers across the district worked together to design and guide students in creating a chalk mural that spanned across all six of our buildings.

Perhaps one of our community’s favorite parts of this year’s Warwick Strong Day was the Kindness Rocks that could be found all over town. Middle School students painted a variety of kind messages on each of the rocks that were later distributed throughout Lititz. Special thanks to Centerville Lawn & Landscape who donated over 1000 rocks, Coach Sham and a number of our JH Football players for helping to unload, clean, and prepare the rocks for painting, and Bomberger’s who helped provide supplies for our students to paint.

This day would not have been possible without the meticulous planning from our administrative team, our many staff members, our students, and the incredible individuals we have in our community. Thank you to all who helped make this year a success!
