My teaching career began as a Kindergarten Teacher in Montoursville, PA where I taught for two years at Loyalsock Valley Elementary School. After getting married and moving to Lancaster, I was able to serve as a day-to-day substitute in several area school districts, and also as a long-term substitute in First Grade at John Beck. I obtained my full-time teaching position in First Grade at John Beck Elementary in 1998!
I strive to provide a positive, solid foundation of both academic and social skills in my students. I love first grade because it is such a time of growth! I always begin each school year ready and aware of how much guidance and assistance is needed by my classroom of young learners. The end of each school year brings the huge reward of having students who have made many individual gains and transformed into more independent readers and learners!
