Homework is primarily given for three purposes:
*to develop responsibility and self-discipline in students.
*to reinforce skills learned in school.
*to keep parents informed about what their children are learning.
Homework assignments are usually due the morning after they are assigned. This means assignments must be in the classroom when the students arrive at school. Assignments left in backpacks or at home are considered late. Students will be expected to complete the assignment during recess, with one-on-one assistance on that day.
Incomplete class work may be sent home to be finished. Otherwise, it will be the responsibility of the student to complete the unfinished assignment during recess with one-on-one assistance of a third grade teacher.
Please check your child's homework folder and planner nightly for assignments. Students should keep their spiral homework planners updated daily of homework expectations.
