Guidelines
Homework begins in the month of October. The purpose of first grade homework is to practice and reinforce the skills learned at school.
- Spend ten minutes on studying sight words and/or spelling words.
- Spend ten minutes reading.
Weekly Routines
- All homework will come home in your child's clear homework envelope.
- Spelling and sight words will come home the 1st day of each week.
- Spelling tests are on Fridays.
- A book or paper passage will be sent home for fluency practice. Feel free to supplement with books of your choice.
- All books or paper reading passages sent home in the students' clear homework folders should be returned the next school day for use in class.
- There is no written homework.
- There is nothing to sign.
- No Friday homework!
