Jonah Ahlers Receives Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award

Jonah Ahlers was recently named a recipient of one of the Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Awards. Through a nomination process of the Eastern PA Youth Soccer Association and an application that includes school transcripts, teacher recommendations, and an essay, Jonah was recognized for his various achievements.

The Union League Legacy Foundation held its 77th annual Good Citizenship Day on March 29th at The Union League headquarters in Philadelphia where 250 young men and women from 50 youth-serving organizations in Pennsylvania attended a day of workshops, discussions, and explored the U.S Constitution and the rights and responsibilities of 'good citizens.'

As part of the Award, all honorees are eligible for college scholarships next year during their senior year of high school.

In addition to receiving the Union League of Philadelphia’s Good Citizenship Award, Jonah has also been involved with a number of other honors including his recent performance in the 2023 Youth Instrumental Music Competition of the Lancaster Women’s Symphony Association, where he earned first place in the Senior Winds Division performing "Fantaisie Brillante" on Themes from Bizet's Carmen by François Borne. From this 1st place performance, he earned the opportunity to perform this piece as a soloist with Allegro, the professional chamber orchestra of Lancaster on June 17, 2023.

Fantastic job to you, Jonah!
