Each year, Lebanon Valley College hosts an Honors Orchestra Festival for High School string musicians across central Pennsylvania.
This year, freshman violist, Andrew Jackson, was selected to represent Warwick in this festival. Jackson secured his seat through a prepared video audition that he submitted. The festival was held last Friday and Saturday (November 4th and 5th) at LVC’s campus in the Blair Music Hall. The event was hosted by Dr. Hannes Dietrich of LVC.
The festival was composed of 70 students from all over central PA and after spending two days rehearsing, the group performed several pieces at a concert Saturday evening.
A few of the pieces were conducted by guest Peter Wilson of the string duo, Bridging the Gap. Peter Wilson (Violinist) and Aaron Clay (Bassist) make up this duo who met in service in the U.S. Marine Symphony Orchestra. They have performed regularly at the White House and many official government events.
“This is a meaningful, musical experience for all of the string musicians involved. Annually, it provides unique musical experiences that the aspiring musicians truly enjoy.” - Ann Ahlers, Music Teacher.
