Fiber Arts is an introduction to fibers as an art medium. Using traditional and contemporary techniques, students will create two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks. Utilitarian, as well as decorative objects will be created. Through art-making experiences inspired by various cultures from around the globe, students will become aware of how craft making is a skill that plays an important role in society. Projects may include fabric collage, coil basketry, linoleum block printing on fabric, wet felting, needle felting, and batik.
