Mrs. Mariah Balmer began her career in the Warwick School District during the 2022 school year. She completed her student teaching placement in a second grade classroom at Bonfield Elementary in the fall of 2021. In February 2022, Mrs. Balmer joined the district as a long-term substitute teacher in kindergarten through the remainder of the school year. She was then hired as a third grade teacher for the 2022–2023 school year. Since the start of the 2023 school year, Mrs. Balmer has been teaching first grade and enjoys helping young learners build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
Before pursuing her passion for teaching, Mrs. Balmer attended George Mason University, where she earned a degree in Communication in the spring of 2019. She later enrolled in the post-baccalaureate certification program at Millersville University. During this time, she worked as a paraeducator in an autistic support classroom within the Palmyra Area School District.
Mrs. Balmer truly enjoys being part of the Warwick community and is excited to build meaningful connections with her first grade students. She is dedicated to meeting each student where they are in their learning journey and helping them grow both academically and personally. Mrs. Balmer believes strong communication is essential to student success and looks forward to collaborating with families, students, and staff throughout the school year.
