Introduction to Engineering

Course Description


This PLTW course develops student problem-solving skills using a design development process. Models of product solutions are created, analyzed, and communicated using solid modeling computer software. IED is an exciting entry-level engineering design course, which encourages hands on participation in exploring various forms of communication. Students will learn design fundamentals and problem solving skills in individual and group settings. They will create a portfolio including sketches, renderings, and 3D CAD models. Inventor software is used for visualizing 3D CAD models. This course strongly recommended for students exploring design, engineering, architecture, technical, construction, manufacturing, and graphic design careers.
