
Concert Choir is the "large ensemble" at Warwick High School and is comprised of all voice parts, Soprano I, Soprano II, Alto I, Alto II, Tenor I, Tenor II, Bass I and Bass II, as well as piano or other instrumentation as needed. Concert Choir performs two major concerts per year as well as a Community Good Friday Service and in the Lititz Springs park for the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree. Concert Choir rehearses in accordance with the BOC schedule posted outside every music room. The choir sings a diverse repertoire of music including Christmas and Holiday Sacred, Holiday Secular and Pop, Sacred and Secular Concert. Selections of all time periods from Gregorian Chant to music of the Twenty-first Century, as well as Broadway and Popular literature,
This course is the study and performance of vocal music from the Renaissance period to the twentieth century. No audition is necessary to gain a position in the organization. It offers opportunites for participation in County, District, Regional and State Choruses and other festivals as selected for which this group is a prerequisite. It is the nucleus of the vocal music program. Students will participate in field trips at the discretion of the director and will perform for church and civic organizations, as well as for the school Holiday Concerts and Spring Concert. Co-curricular activities: performance groups organized to further student involvement and increase individual proficiency are Production Company, Show Choir, The Glitter Girls (a female ensemble) and an Accapella Chamber Ensemble. An audition in the Fall Semester is necessary to obtain placement in one of these performing organizations.
