Social studies instruction is tied directly to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards related to History, Geography, Civics & Government, and Economics including Personal Finance. The curriculum focuses on the 5 standard areas as it builds and broadens in scope from grade to grade. Students in first grade will learn about citizenship, customs and holidays, American heroes and patriotic symbols, geography and economics.
