On May 5th, the second graders at Bonfield Elementary went on a field trip to downtown Lititz for a walking tour.
During the field trip, students enjoyed the outdoors while also learning about the history of this town. Led by second grade teachers, Mrs. Lynn Brubaker, Mrs. Lindsey Buckwalter, Mrs. Erika Deeter, and Mrs. Susie Lytle, students took tours of the Moravian Church, the Mueller House, and the Police Station. They also heard about the history of the Lititz Springs Park.
This field trip served as a culmination of student learning regarding our Lititz community curriculum unit in social studies classes.
Mrs. Buckwalter shared that her favorite part of the field trip was, “watching the excitement of the students as they learned about their community.”
It’s certainly great to see our students getting to go on field trips again!
