Future City Students Receive Trophy and Two Citations of Achievement

Yesterday, our Future City students received their 1st place trophy from the Future City Competition as well as a Citation of Achievement from both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania State Senate.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s Future City Competition finals were held virtually rather than in-person, so while the students found out they took first place back in March, it wasn’t until yesterday that they received their trophy.

Mr. Dan Koval, the Corporate Initiatives Manager for Bentley Systems, stopped by to congratulate the students and hand-deliver their trophy. PA State Senator Ryan Aument attended to present our students with a Citation of Achievement for winning the competition.

And, PA House of Representatives member, Steven C. Mentzer also came to award the students with an additional Citation of Achievement.

Receiving these Citations of Achievement means that the students’ names and their 1st place win will be announced and recorded in both the House and Senate minutes at the next meeting.

This was such an incredible opportunity for our students to meet some local politicians, share their experience, and show off their incredible project. We are so proud of you all!
