Computer Science Students Recognized for NCWIT Awards

Six Warwick High School computer science students recently received recognition for the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing for the central Pennsylvania region.  Those outstanding students were Ella Brechbill, Alexa Wenger, Amber Houser, Amelia Blevins, Sarah Marshall, and Abigail Smith.

The young women that were selected took computer science courses last year and expressed various interests in computing or computing-related fields in the future. They were selected based on aptitude and interest in computing, along with demonstrated leadership abilities in and out of the school.

NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) is a program that shows what is possible for women in technology from K-12 through career by focusing on increasing computing and computational thinking which are important 21st-century skills. AiC uses program elements that spark interest in computing; recognizes and celebrates women’s technical aspirations and abilities, as well as the educators who support them; while providing an expansive supportive network.
