WHS Students have Artwork Showcased Locally

Senior AP Art student's Eva Gallagher, Lia Lindemuth and Lindsey Cammauf took an online workshop in January with AP Art teacher, Mrs. Hohenadel, learning and creating Automatic Drawings at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Each submitted a work of art from the PCAD class for an exhibit at Garden Spot Village, a retirement community in Lancaster county, titled, “Zammesei: Bringing the Lancaster Community Together Through the Arts”.

“I was really excited when I saw a workshop about automatic drawing because I often see my young artist's struggle with inspiration, diving into projects and removing their expectations as they make art...all of which can lead to artist's block,” stated Mrs. Angie Hohenadel.  “Automatic drawing is a wonderful exercise for any artist to simply play with materials, be curious and create something that becomes more about process and experience than about product.”

“Taking the class with Lia, Eva and Lindsey was so much fun and they all made me so proud with their artwork, participation in discussions and applications to their own art in AP when it was over,” stated Warwick Art teacher Mrs. Hohenadel.

The exhibit is currently installed at Garden Spot Village, but an online exhibition catalog of the artwork is available here.

These high school art students were excited about the opportunity to have their work displayed in-person in their local community.  When asked about this experience the students expressed how cool it was to have their work alongside their teacher's as well.
