All winners were chosen amongst entries in the larger Northeast Region Writing-at-Large area.  Writing entries were judged anonymously, without knowledge or identification of the author. Winners were chosen based on scores in the three, distinct areas of, Originality, Technical Skill, and Emergence of a Personal Voice or Vision.

An awards recognition ceremony was held Tuesday, March 10th at the Warwick Middle School for the winners and their families where each student recited their works.

"It takes real courage to share that which makes you vulnerable, but these young writers have the creativity, passion, and bravery to be incredibly successful. Their talents were on display at the awards recognition ceremony as they recited their work,” stated Mr. Elton Sturges, English teacher at the Warwick Middle School.

Gold Key winners will automatically move on to be judged by a national panel.
