Congratulations to the National Art Honor Society for taking first place in the Group Division at the recent Lititz Halloween parade.
The group knew they wanted to have a theme related to different artists and art history. The NAHS officers wanted to create something that was sculptural and were inspired by large marionette type of puppets that can be seen in other parades.
“We worked on this for about three weeks after school and put in roughly 20 hours total with anywhere from six to 20 students working on them at once,” stated NAHS Advisor, Mrs. Angie Hohenadel.
There were 27 NAHS members who marched in the parade assisting with carrying the large puppets. The artists that were depicted were Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh and Yayoi Kusama.
