Each year, the American Association of Teachers of German sponsors the National German Exam for High School Students. Nearly 24,900 students across the country participated in the exam this year. The following Warwick students have received special recognition for their performance on the 2019 National German Exam and have been placed on the Presidential Honor Roll:
Gold Award (honoring students who scored in the 90th percentile of the exam):
Bryce Koons - Level 4
Isabel Miller - Level 2*
*Isabel Miller was invited to interview for the top prize of a study trip to Germany. This opportunity is given to students who score in the 90th percentile who have never traveled to Germany. Although the committee chose a different candidate, they were impressed with her interview and awarded her an honorable mention prize of a half-scholarship, funded by the Central PA chapter of the AATG, to attend the week-long German immersion camp for high school students at Millersville University. However, Isabel is a multi-talented student and had already committed to other opportunities this summer.
Silver Award (honoring students who scored in the 80th percentile of the exam):
Sean Burchett - Level 3
Elise Donovan - Level 2
Riley Koons - Level 4
Marley Loop - Level 2

The AATG salutes their tremendous accomplishment and the great work their teachers do," stated Susanne Rinner, Associate Professor of German at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and AATG President.
Founded in 1926, the AATG represents German teachers at all levels of instruction. The AATG is dedicated to the advancement and improvement of the teaching of language, literature, and culture of the German‐speaking countries.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch to these students and their hard work!
