The Warwick School District recently opened a two week window for candidates to submit a letter of interest to fill a vacancy on the Warwick School Board School of Directors.
During the two week period, the board received six letters of interest. Three of the candidates have had experience with the Warwick School District Board — either as a former board member or as a current or former board sub-committee member. After a review of the information submitted by the six applicants, those with prior school board or board committee experience will move forward in the process to the interview phase. Those candidates who are not moving forward have been offered the opportunity to serve on a board subcommittee.
The interview process and final decision on the potential candidate will take place at the school board meeting open to the public on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the district office board room. A series of questions will be asked to candidates. Following the questions, the board will discuss and ultimately vote on a candidate during the meeting. This process will be conducted entirely in the public.
The final candidate will be sworn into the board during the September 2018 board meeting.
The Warwick School District appreciates the interest of all the applicants and extends thanks for their continued support and interest in the students and school community.
