Recently, 30 high school students had the opportunity to travel to Germany as part of the German American Partnership Program. The exchange program lasts three weeks in total. Warwick students attend school for 10 days of the 21 day-long exchange. During the academic portion, students prepare and give presentations on American life and culture, all in the German language of course! The other part of the trip is spent touring and sight-seeing to places like Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Burghausen, and the Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles.
For the duration of their stay, students get the chance to live with a German host family. Next spring the current Warwick exchange students will return the favor and host the Germans who have hosted them.
The primary purpose of the partnership is to promote international friendship between Germany and America while helping students to grow in their linguistic and communication skills.
Warwick High School has had a partnership with their German “sister” school for the last 29 years and very much looks forward to continuing that relationship.
