Warwick High School Chemistry teacher, Mr. Doug Balmer was selected as the 2018 Allen Floyd Whalen Memorial Award winner for contributions in the field of chemistry at the high school teaching level. Mr. Balmer will be presented the award at the annual Education Night meeting of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Section of the American Chemical Society, held on Tuesday, April 17th at York College of Pennsylvania.
“This is very flattering and humbling,” stated Balmer. “I’m able to teach the way I can because we have such a good tech program here at Warwick School District. We have unlimited resources through grants given to us by the Warwick Education Foundation. It’s nice to have the technology available for the kids, and it’s great to be recognized for that.”
Warwick junior, Conner Shields will also be honored that evening for earning the Distinguished High School Chemistry award for the district.
Congratulations to both.
