Last Saturday, January 13th, over thirty members of the Warwick High School chapter of National Honor Society served as lane coaches for the Lancaster County Special Olympics Bowling Tournament, held at Dutch Lanes.
NHS members helped the bowlers with everything from ramp bowling, to following the tournament format. They cheered the Olympians on throughout the afternoon and were even able to help present awards at the end of the tournament.
This event had started several years ago as one National Honor Society member's graduation project. It has now grown into a wonderful relationship with Special Olympics, as this event continues to happen each year.
Next week two members, the advisor, and one high school teacher will continue their support of Special Olympics by participating in the statewide Polar Bear Plunge on City Island in Harrisburg
In February, Warwick's NHS will sponsor a winter dance and activities' night for local Special Olympians.
