Over the past few weeks, the sixth graders in Mrs. Bernstein’s science classes at John Beck Elementary School created something called, “Upcycled Projects”. Students were tasked with creating products only using items they had laying around their house. The idea of this project was to repurpose materials and create something new to help save the environment.
There were a variety of items that were created, all produced with their own purpose and creativity. Students became innovated by creating pieces like decorative instruments, bird feeders, wind chimes, tricycles, dog beds, sports organizers, pool tables and gym-ball machines.
The students were able to let their creative juices flow, all while reusing everyday household items in hopes to help save the environment.
