During last Tuesday’s board meeting the Warwick Education Foundation presented a check to the school district for an amount of $61,400. This check was utilized to purchase 70 laptop computers and two synchronizing carts for use by students in 9th through 12th grade at the Warwick High School as part of the 21st Century Technology Initiative.
“The Warwick Education Foundation is excited about the opportunities that these laptops provide for enriching student learning at the high school. These are resources that open the world to our students and allow Warwick teachers to offer even more creativity in their teaching,” said Grant Hummer, President of the Warwick Education Foundation.
The foundation has presented the district with three checks over the past few months totaling approximately $190,167.00 for Warwick education programs.
In the last four years, the Warwick Education Foundation has provided 240 iPads for the elementary schools, 75 MacBook Air laptop computers for the Warwick Middle School and 60 MacBook Airs for the high school.
Mr. Hummer continued on by saying, “We appreciate the support of every community member who has made these contributions possible, and we look forward to working with the community to provide even more for student education in the future.”
