GAPP Exchange Soccer Match

GAPP Exchange Soccer Match

International Soccer Match at WHS

On Monday, April 3, 2017 a soccer match of international proportions was held under the lights on the Warwick High School turf field.  Representatives of the German and American sides of the 2017 GAPP (German American Partnership Program) Exchange, as well as members of the WHS soccer teams, faced off in a friendly competition that concluded with a 5-1 German victory.

Over 200 fans attended and enjoyed the friendly rivalry.  Special thanks to WHS Band Director Mr. Matthew Tenaglia and the WHS Pep Band, Mrs. Robyn Rissinger and Mr. Ryan Landis for their logistical help, Mr. Gordy Cowher and Scott Simmons for refereeing, the Berlin Airlift Memorial Scholarship for the T-shirts/uniforms, and the Warwick administration for allowing the first of what many hope will be the start of a new tradition when Warwick’s partner school from Germany visits WHS.
