NHS Spreads Holiday Cheer
The Warwick High School chapter of National Honor Society was busy all throughout December spreading holiday cheer. On December 11, thirty members participated in the Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis. Everyone had a great time either running or walking the 5K held at Conestoga Valley High School, even the furry friends that members brought with them. NHS also purchased, wrapped, and delivered Christmas presents to four local families. Finally, members sponsored a "Penny War for the Polar Plunge" to raise money for local chapter of the Special Olympics and to determine which officer and which of five members of the faculty and administration (Mrs. Gleason, Ms. Griffiths, Mr. Neuman, Mrs. Szobocsan, or Mr. Wile) will be taking the plunge into the icy waters of Gifford Pinchot State Park lake on January 21, 2017. They will be joined by Mrs. Lefever, NHS advisor; Mr. Wertsch, Warwick's business manager; and Mrs. Lynn Lopez, a director of the local chapter of the Special Olympics.
