This is a picture of my family. My husband, Bruce, is the Sports Editor for
the Lititz Record Express. My children, Brooks and Kendall, attend Warwick as students. Brooks is entering his senior year, and Kendall is entering eighth grade.
I've been an educator for 27 years. For many years, I was a third grade teacher, but this is my sixth year as a sixth grade teacher. We use a delivery system of departmentalization to prepare our students for the transitions of middle school and more closely align our teaching to that of the rest of the elementary schools. In this model, I teach the English Language Arts meaning reading and writing.
I am not teaching, I enjoy a variety of activities. I am a greeter and a youth leader at my church. I love
downhill skiing, swimming, and reading good books. I enjoy
traveling to new places and visiting our extended family.
have a BS in Education from Bucknell University and a M.Ed. from Penn
State University. I've completed my Instructional Technology Specialist certificate from Philadelphia University, and my Principal's Certificate with coursework from Temple University. For the second half of this year, I am going to begin taking classes for a Reading Specialist Certification.
at John Beck, I am also a technology resource teacher. That means
that I am expected to lead our school in the area of technology. I use a lot of technology throughout the school year, and I assist other teachers with their technology problems as well.
I can't wait to meet all of you and have a great year.
