Hello! I am Ms. Kerry Lichty. I am the speech and language therapist at Bonfield Elementary. This is my 5th year in Warwick School District and my 10th year as a Speech Therapist.
Background: A little bit about me!
I attended and completed my undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders and earned a B.A. from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2006. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I went to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and earned a Masters of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology. I graduated in 2006. I began my career working in a elementary school in York county. I was there for 2 years before I decided to broaden my horizons and move to Washington DC. While there, I had the privilege of working at a charter school serving students ages 4-10 who had severe cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder, and other congenital or learning disabilities and those whose needs could not be adequately served in the public school system. After moving back to the area, I worked one year in an outpatient facility before I realized that the school setting is where I belonged. I have been so happy to have been at Bonfield for the past 4 years and plan to continue my career here:)
I have always valued my relationship with my students and families. I am open to communicating and helping you with any questions you have related to Speech and Language Impairments, Special Education, or General questions pertaining to Warwick School District.
For most of you reading, special education services are very different from "when we were in school" and can be filled with jargon, uncertainties, and new ways of approaching learning. I hope this website can provide you with some information to help navigate through this world.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions!
