NHS Blood Drive and Aid to Soldiers

The Warwick High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held their third and final blood drive of the 2011-2012 school year on Thursday, May 24.  Working with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, NHS helped to register 175 potential donors and to collect 130 units of blood.  This final drive brings the year-end total for units collected to 345, again making Warwick one of their top-producing schools.  Approximately twenty percent of blood donations comes from high schools, making Warwick’s efforts especially appreciated.  NHS would like to thank all those who donated or attempted to donate at any of their drives this year because they truly are “lifesavers.”

National Honor Society also recently sent supplies to local soldiers who are currently serving overseas.  In addition to purchasing some of the supplies, NHS also received a generous donation from Johnson & Johnson to support this effort.  While packing the supplies, members included encouraging words, thanking the soldiers for their sacrifices.

NHS celebrates these two groups—blood donors and soldiers—for they are real heroes!
