Working Together Makes A Difference

As part of the Extended Learning Program, the students in Mrs. Goebel's math class at Kissel Hill Elementary School learned about the difficulties that many people worldwide have with access to clean water.

The class went on-line and learned about the facts. They then brainstormed an action plan that detailed how they could help. After collecting data and making presentations, it was decided to have a duct tape sale at the school's carnival.  Students made duct tape wallets, bracelets, rings and purses.  They sold them at the carnival held last week.  Between donations and sales, they raised $350 that will be sent to Rwanda to help with the installation of sinks and a toilet in a neighborhood school. They learned that by working together, we can all make a difference!
