Students in Mrs. Evans’ third grade class at John Beck Elementary School were recently visited by author, speaker, and retired Millersville University professor, Dr. Dennis Denenberg.

Mrs. Evans uses a classroom management plan that was inspired by Denenberg’s book "50 American Heroes Every Kid Should Meet". 

Students surprised Dr. Denenberg by dressing as one of the heroes from his book. During his visit, they shared what they learned about their hero, and Dr. Denenberg shared a few stories about his favorite heroes.  He donned a few of his favorite hats, and answered questions from the students.  The class was excited to meet Dr. Denenberg’s Eleanor Roosevelt puppet, and they also learned a song about the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
