According to PIAA regulations, for ALL sports the physical should be scheduled after June 1 and before the beginning of practice for the current school year. Athletes who have not gotten their physical and their first sport is in the spring season, must have a physical exam no more than six (6) weeks prior to the beginning of practice.
If the athlete plays a second or third sport during the school year, or obtained a physical in the summer but did not play a fall and/or winter sport, then the athlete must complete the PIAA Re-Certification by the Parent/Guardian and turn into the athletic office. The athletic trainer will then review the form and determine whether the student needs to be re-evaluated and re-certified by a Medical Examiner, who will then complete the appropriate form. The forms for these exams will be available online at www.warwicksd.org.
Completed paperwork must be turned in and approved by the Athletic Office before you will be permitted to practice. Any paperwork turned in after the determined due date or the first day of practice or after, than the student athlete will have a minimum 24 hour wait period before they may practice.
